Candidate Background
Meet Travis White
"I am committed to ensuring that the schools of Higley provide an exceptional environment for all
students to succeed and for the staff of Higley to be valued!"
I am a Higley Unified School District parent, a community advocate, and technology leader. I will
work to keep Higley Schools the best choice for families while supporting academic programs
including elementary specials and our Dual Language Immersion programs. Strong public schools equal
strong communities and lasting opportunities for all students.
I am a native of California and attended public schools growing up. After attending community
college, I transferred to Arizona State University where I earned a degree in Computer Information
Systems from ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. After college, I spent five years working in
Arizona followed by five years in Las Vegas. I returned to Gilbert nine years ago and have been a
proud Higley district resident ever since. My daughter is now in her third year of Higley schooling.
I am an Information Security Executive with substantial experience managing risk, budgets, ensuring
compliance, contracting, and driving decisions with data. I bring a style of leadership to the
Governing Board that is transparent, accountable, collaborative with teachers and administrators,
and focused on protecting and creating academic opportunity for all while keeping student outcomes
at the forefront of every decision.

Rigorous Learning for Every Student: Protect strong academic standards and programs that help every student grow from early learning through graduation.
A Well-Rounded Education: Preserve opportunities in literacy, math, science, the arts, PE, libraries, career pathways, and Dual Language Immersion so students can discover their strengths and thrive.
Student-Focused Use of Data: Use clear achievement and growth data to identify what is working, address gaps early, and direct resources where they will make the greatest difference for students.
Accountability for Results: Hold district leadership accountable for measurable progress, responsible implementation of programs, and the continued excellence Higley families expect.
02
Value Teachers & Staff
Recruit, retain, and support outstanding teachers and staff because the people

Respect and Trust Educators: Advocate for a professional culture that values teacher expertise, invites employee input, and gives educators appropriate flexibility to meet their students’ needs.
Equip Classrooms for Success: Prioritize dependable classroom resources, instructional materials, technology, training, and support services so employees can focus on students rather than unmet operational needs.

Smart, Transparent Investments: Carefully review facility plans, major contracts, capital purchases, and project outcomes to ensure district resources are used efficiently, transparently, and for their intended purpose.
Plan for Growth and Longevity: Use enrollment, capacity, and condition data to guide long-range decisions about schools, transportation, technology, and infrastructure as our community continues to grow.
